Day 1 & 2 - Negombo
Arrival in Colombo International Airport and meet with our driver. You will be then transferred to Negombo, just 20 minutes’ drive away from Colombo International Airport. You will be staying in a small guest house in Negombo, very closer to the beach, restaurants and pubs. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure chilling out by the pool or by the beach.
On day two, our guide will pick you from the hotel to take part in exciting sailing trip with fishermen in the area in their traditional fishing catamaran in the lagoon where you would be able to witness the fishermen way of life, a buzzling fish market and village and also explore the tranquil Negombo lagoon. This is approximately 3 to 4 hours of experience which is very unique and authentic.
Rest of the day you could spend at leisure by the pool or by the beach, much needed leisure time before starting your family adventure in Sri Lanka.

Day 3, 4 & 5 - Polonnaruwa
To begin your family adventure in Sri Lanka, after a two day of relaxing time in Negombo, we now move to Habarana, 4 hours drive and you are in the heart of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka. A three nights stay in a small authentic lodge in Habarana. On the way, visit Dambulla Cave Temple which is a very ancient temple, a World Heritage site. Upon arriving in Habarana, spend some relaxing afternoon by the pool and witness various birds and squirrels who inhabits the trees in the garden.
Day two will be an early start as we visit Polonnaruwa ruins. A specialist guide will meet you at the Polonnaruwa cultural site to do a guided tour of Monkeys of Sri Lanka where you will be able to observe the habitat of cheeky Monkeys. The specialist guide will explain you about three types of Monkeys namely Toque Macaques, Grey Langurs and Purple Face Langurs. This is an interesting experience for children as they get to see these Monkeys having a family time playing cuddling and being cheeky over other Monkeys.
After observing the Monkey habitat, you then explore the glory of the bygone era which could be found in the archaeological treasures in Polonnaruwa that still give a good idea of how the city looked in its glory days. You'll find the archaeological park a delight to explore, with hundreds of ancient structures – tombs and temples, statues and stupas. The afternoon is you are free to be on your own at the hotel, chilling out by the pool or reading your favourite book.
Day three, a busy day with full of interesting activities where you will be able interact with locals. Firstly, a villager will take you on a rural village trip in his open top jeep to explore the rural country life of Sigiriya passing and visiting farming fields, village boutiques, irrigation lakes, paddy fields and on the way you will meet with various vendors who goes from house to house to sell vegetables, fish and various other food commodities. At the end of the trip you will be served with a home cooked Sri Lankan lunch.
In the second half of the day, take up a challenge of finding some hidden treasures in the village and surrounding forest using ATV bikes. You will be given some visual guides to follow to find the treasures. During this you may visit village houses and boutiques to seek their help in finding the treasures. A very interesting and unique experience during your family tour in Sri Lanka.

Day 6, 7 & 8 - Trincomalee
Three nights in Trincomalee, much waited beach stay, in a comfortable beach hotel. Trincomalee, very stretchy sandy beaches with swimmable sea, close to Pigeon Island Marine Sanctuary where you would be able to snorkel to explore the underwater marvels and life. This is the most relaxing part of your family adventure tour of Sri Lanka.
When not relaxing by the beach, you could visit Koneswaram Hindu Temple. Best done in the late afternoons.

Day 9 - Kandy
We then transfer you to Kandy just for one-night stay and on the way visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress in time for sunset. Sigiriya fortress complex includes miscellany of a ruined palace, surrounded by a widespread network of fortifications, enormous gardens, ponds, canals and fountains. Since 3th century BC the rocky plateau of Sigiriya served as a monastery. In the second half of the 5th century king Kasyapa decided to construct a royal residence here. You will be staying in a family run guest house in Kandy, within walking distance to the city centre to enable you to take leisurely stroll in the evening.

Day 10 - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast take a scenic train journey to Nuwara Eliya, one of the most scenic train journeys of the world. In the afternoon explore Nuwara Eliya town, market and cloth bazar or even visit Gregory’s Lake park for a leisurely afternoon/evening. Stay the night in a small hotel closer to the town.

Day 11 & 12 - Ella
Set off to Horton Plains National Park for a nature trail, early in the morning to witness a very interesting and scenic landscape in Sri Lanka during your family tour of Sri Lanka. Early morning start will ensure that you will get the views from World’s end point, not to forget the Baker’s waterfall. Then drive to Ella for two nights stay in a small hotel in Ella with stunning views of Ella Gap. Spend you afternoon at leisure, chilling out by the pool.
On day two in Ella, explore 9 Arch Bridge and trek to Little Adam’s Peak, two of Ella’s star attractions and no visit to Ella is complete without these.

Day 13 & 14 - Wellawaya
You are about to begin a unique rural and wildlife experience during your adventure tour in Sri Lanka. You will be staying two nights in a remote farm stay, bordering Lunugamwehera and Udawalawe national parks where Elephants roam freely. Most of the travelers rate this as the highlight of their tour to Sri Lanka and undoubtedly you will also rate this experience the same way. During your stay at the rural farm stay, you will be taking part in an old Land Rover jeep safari at the backyard of the farm stay to see wild Elephants, Canoeing in the lake, fishing in the lake using traditional fishing rods and exploring farming fields with local farmers. If you wish you could also work with the farmers to plant tree and pluck fruits and vegetables. You will be sleeping both nights in rustic eco lodges, overlooking the lake. Sometimes, you would be able to witness Elephants during the sunset in the lake in front of your room.

Day 15 - Yala
Just one hours drive, you are in Sri Lanka’s most popular national Park, Yala. Famous for it’s growing Leopard population and Yala is a one of the best places in the world to see Leopards. You will be staying this night in a small safari Lodge in a tented room and we suggest that you spend some leisurely afternoon by the pool and go to bed early as the next day is an early start to go on a safari.

Day 16 & 17 - Galle
Set to Yala National Park early in the morning by 5.30 AM with an expert guide to spot the Leopards. The park opens by 6 AM and you will be taking a guided safari to witness a Leopard or two but not to forget, Yala is home for Elephants, Sloth Bears, Crocodiles and many varieties of birds. Upon returning from the morning safari, you will be the transferred to Galle for the last leg of your adventure family tour of Sri Lanka.
You will be staying inside Galle Fort when in Galle, in a luxury boutique hotel for two nights. Galle Fort was built by the Portuguese, later occupied by the Dutch and now it is known as Dutch Fort of Galle. Since you stay inside the fort, it is easy for you to explore Galle Fort whenever you feel like doing so. Just take up leisurely stroll along the cobble stone paved lanes in the fort, many interesting Dutch styled buildings, coffee shops, bars pubs and small boutiques of interest for you to explore.
On day two, our specialist guide from the village will pick you for an interesting cycling journey to the interior villages of Galle where you will understand the way of life of southern part of Sri Lanka. You will be able to witness paddy fields, cinnamon plantation, temples and even visit a Montessori to interact with local children, this will be a very good experience for the kids. We would suggest that you bring some pens, pencils and books to offer the local children as a gift.

Day 18 - Departure
Your family tour in Sri Lanka comes to an end, transfer to Colombo International Airport for the flight back home.
